With Halloween just around the corner, our Brew Boffins have been in the Change lab brewing up some spooky potions for you to enjoy at the scariest time of the year!

 

Petrifying Phantom Irish Coffee!

A hair-raising delicious treat …

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of freshly brewed Change coffee
  • 1 table spoon brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of Irish whiskey
  • Heavy cream, slightly whipped
  • Large white marshmallows
  • Wooden skewers
  • Decorating gel/food pen in black or red

 

Instructions

  1. To make the phantom, slide three large marshmallows onto the wooden skewer.
  2. Decorate the top marshmallow with a scary face and then put to one side and make the coffee.
  3. To make the coffee, fill a mug with hot water to preheat it and then empty it.
  4. Pour your freshly brewed coffee into the warmed glass until it is ¾ full
  5. Add the brown sugar and stir until it has completely dissolved
  6. Blend in the Irish whiskey
  7. Add the heavy cream
  8. Pop your petrifying phantom skewer into the coffee and enjoy!

 

Goblin Snot Coffee

A real trick-or-treat this Halloween ...

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of freshly brewed Change coffee
  • 1.5 tablespoons of Scotch whisky
  • 1 tablespoon of Amaretto or Almond MONIN syrup
  • Whipped cream
  • Green food colouring

 

Instructions

  1. To make your goblin snot topping, add whipped cream to a bowl and add green food colouring until you achieve your desired effect.
  2. To make the coffee, fill a mug with hot water to preheat it and then empty it.
  3. Pour your freshly brewed coffee into the warmed glass until it is ¾ full
  4. Add the Scotch whiskey and MONIN syrup to the coffee
  5. Spoon your green whipped cream onto the top.
  6. Serve and enjoy!

 

Bloody Caramel Macchiato

A bloodcurdling treat from our Brew Boffins ...

  • Ingredients
  • 18-21 grams of espresso grounds
  • 240 ml milk
  • 2 tablespoons MONIN caramel syrup
  • Red food colouring

 

Instructions

  1. To make the coffee, fill a mug with hot water to preheat it and then empty it.
  2. Next you need to pour all of the milk into a small metal pitcher.
  3. Add the MONIN caramel syrup to the milk and then set aside.
  4. Use your espresso grounds in your coffee machine to create a double shot of espresso
  5. Whilst the espresso is being made, steam the milk and caramel syrup in the pitcher using the steam wand on your coffee machine. Add the red food colouring until it’s blood red! When it reaches a temperature of 140, stop steaming the milk.
  6. Pour the steamed milk into the preheated mug.
  7. Take your espresso shots and pour them directly over the milk foam. It should sink to the bottom.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
